Climate Change in Nigeria: Strategies and Policy Actions for Effective Mitigation

This study examined various strategies to mitigate against the impact of climate change in Nigeria. By analyzing current research and secondary data on related topic. The paper concluded that climate change is inimical to the socio-economic development of Nigeria if not properly handled and controlled. The paper identified promoting renewable energy sources, implementing sustainable land use practices, and increasing public awareness and education on climate change mitigation are some of the policy measures to adopt to mitigate against the adverse impact of climate change on the Nigeria economy. The paper also suggest that by implementing these measures, Nigeria can effectively decrease its carbon footprint and combat the negative effects of climate change.
