Abstract

In today's era of globalization, the unprecedented expansion of socio-economic and cultural relations between countries, the desire of peoples to develop, is changing the geographical map of the world day by day. How these place names are written on geographical maps, diplomatic and other documents of different languages, and how they are assimilated into languages with different speech sounds and letters, creates a lot of problems. This, by itself, creates the need to study the characteristics of the acquisition of toponyms in different languages, and it is of particular importance in the development of the vocabulary of each language, the structure of orthoepic and orthographic standard dictionaries. Therefore, at the UN Conference on the Standardization of Geographical Names in 1967, the appeal of the Expert Group on Geographical Names held at the UN on the adoption of a single, harmonized transliteration system for all countries that have transferred their inscriptions to Latin was accepted. However, this problem has not yet been solved.
