Exploring the Potential of Niche Tourism in Uzbekistan: Opportunities and Challenges

Uzbekistan is currently implementing reforms to establish tourism as a key sector of the national economy. These efforts aim to enhance the industry's strategic role in driving economic growth and sustainable development. To increase competitiveness and attract more visitors, one of the most effective approaches is to diversify niche markets, including ecotourism, gastronomic tourism, pilgrimage tourism, and rural tourism. Strategic investment and promotion of these sectors will help position Uzbekistan as a sustainable and attractive destination. This study examines the prospects and challenges associated with developing niche tourism in Uzbekistan. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of existing research, the paper identifies the unique opportunities each niche offers and the obstacles that must be addressed to fully realize their potential.
