Abstract

Translation plays a pivotal role in the transmission of meaning across linguistic and cultural boundaries. As globalization accelerates the pace of interaction among diverse communities, translation becomes not merely a linguistic exercise but a profound act of intercultural communication. This article explores translation from this dual perspective, emphasizing the translator's role as a cultural mediator. Drawing from theoretical frameworks and illustrative case studies, we analyze the communicative, ethical, and sociocultural implications of translation. The findings underscore that successful translation demands deep cultural sensitivity and strategic decision-making beyond linguistic equivalence.
